Hikari Konohana (
In that same year, she has joined the St. Spica's Choir (also known as the Saintly Chorus) with Yaya Nanto (Hikari's best friend and roommate).
Appearance[]
Hikari is described as a pretty young girl of average height and build. She has fair skin, sand blonde hair that falls to her upper back with two fringes that falls above her chest, both which are seen curled towards the end, and ocean blue eyes.
Though most commonly seen in her school uniform, she can also be seen wearing the choir uniform when participating along with Yaya, as well as casual yet girly clothes during social outings with Amane. As for the following events of episode 26, she is seen wearing an off the shoulder, light yellow ballgown with a matching pair of opera gloves and yellow heels.
Personality[]
Hikari is a rather shy and quiet girl most of the time who tends to not be very outspoken, and it usually takes a lot for her to say what is really on her mind.
She tends to be a physically weak girl who is fairly easy to be taken advantage of, much to her dismay. Unpleasant experiences related to her vulnerability seem to have inspired some fear of unexpected physical proximity in her. However, she does have friends that look out for her well being and she also seems to be very religious where she can be seen praying within the church or at the Spica fountain with a statue depicting the Virgin Mary on the school grounds.
She watches everything from a distance and has a minimal occurrence in the series, but despite her shyness she has a lot of friends. With Yaya Nanto, Tamao Suzumi and Nagisa Aoi, they meet will often find small tea parties where it particularly has its focus on Spica's Amane Ōtori down. By chance, gets the chance to meet them alone and get to know them a little closer.
Relationships[]
Amane Ōtori[]
Hikari and Amane first meet when the former was singing outside by the corals. The latter, who didn't knew who was singing so beautifully like an angel, was the first to approach Hikari and officially meet her from there.
Throughout the series, both Hikari and Amane share an intense feeling of attraction towards each other, though neither want to admit as such. However, when Amane gains amnesia to where she didn't remember Hikari, yet the subtle hints for the person she claimed as "important" stuck with her, it's thanks to Hikar's singing that led Amane to regain her memories and call her by her first name. Thus leading them to make love in the night and officially become a couple.
By the end of episode 26, she and Amane are the official Etoiles who represent Spica.
Yaya Nanto[]
Yaya is the roommate / best friend of Hikari. She is also the one who encourages Hikari to join the St. Spica Choir and find her passion in singing.
While Yaya is supportive of Hikari's pursuit for Amane, despite the latter lacking confidence, Yaya is also in love with Hikari. Though their relationship became strained when Yaya kissed her and even touched her, their friendship was able to be reconciled. Thus leading Yaya to be more supportive of Amane and Hikari's relationship as a couple.
Etymology[]
- The name Hikari means "light" (光) (hika) and "white jasmine" (莉) (ri).
- Hikari's surname Konohana means "this, current, next, coming, last, past" (此) (kono) and "flower, blossom" (花) (hana).
Trivia[]
- Hikari is the same age as Nagisa Aoi.
- She was born on August 27.
- Hikari's spine is very unstable, which is again uncertain times or not enough self-confidence has strengthened her back.
